Fashion Tips For Women

You know how sometimes you just know things, but don’t realize that you do until someone mentions it out loud. That’s just the case with fashion too, and that’s why we always need tips from experts, fashionistas, and designers to validate what we know. But, often while reading about stuff, we realize how we miss tiny details and how other people have a different perspective to offer! So, today, let’s take a look at Top 10 Fashion Tips that will come in handy for every woman.

1. Embrace And Figure Out Your Body’s Shape

Knowing your body shape is the basic thing to know about yourself. Everything works around this, so this is  one of the biggest fashion tips or advise that anyone can give you.”Once you know which silhouettes flatter you, filter trends ruthlessly,” says designer Shoshanna Gruss. For instance, if you’re petite and shapely, it’s best to avoid tall columns and billowy maxis even if you love them. Go for a dress with a defined waist and just-above-the-knee hem.

2. Hem Your Pants for a Shoe Height

“The biggest mistake women make is wearing pants that aren’t the right length for their shoes,” says stylist Kate Young. To fix this, hem to either flats or heels like Dakota Johnson—no going back. Generally, hems should just graze the tops of your shoes and be from 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch off the floor. Always, always, hem your pants – nothing is more unflattering than folded denim or trousers.

3. Understand The Color Wheel

It might seem a little unnecessary, but you will be more than glad you looked this up because it’s a game changer and gives you a new perspective when matching up colors. To play it safe, combine a neutral, like flax, with something bolder, like yellow. But think twice about pairing intense hues with black, which “can look dated,” says designer Chris Benz. For something punchier, try two colors that are beside each other on the color wheel, such as coral and orange. Not sure where to begin? “Notice what colors you love and respond to in your decor,” says Benz. Remember, there cannot be more than three colors in your outfit at one time.

4. Mix Your Prints

Playing with colors, scales, and patterns in a way that looks dynamic takes practice, but there are some basic tricks to getting it right. You can wear two prints that repeat the same colors or mix a large-scale pattern with a smaller one. What’s even easier is to use the second motif as an accent (like Gabrielle Union left). Colorful florals with plain skirts or bottoms, or printed dresses with plain accessories and shoes are good – there’s a way to mix them up. You simply cannot afford to mess up.

5. Spend Your Budget on Accessories

Accessories are an integral part of dressing up. Keep aside some money just for accessories. Just one chunky piece of jewelry can marry an entire outfit. Wear them as per the occasion – office, party, concert, etc. “Cool shoes, interesting jewelry—those can really elevate your look,” says stylist Isabel Dupré, who notes that a wardrobe of the right little extras lets you be more relaxed about the rest of your outfit.

6. Scarves – Come A Long Way In All Seasons

It’s the ultimate accessory according to a host of the best-dressed women we interviewed. Stash one in your purse or carry-on to transform simple Ts in the time it takes to make a knot. Woolen, silk, satin, linen, blanket, etc. – you need it all. Some work wonders in winters, while some are for summer and the others are perfect for fall fashion.

7. Have a Stylist Emergency Kit

  • Double stick tape for loose hems or a gaping bodice
  • Tide To Go eraser pen for getting the wine off whites, fast
  • Safety pins for allover damage control
  • Bobby pins and hair elastics.
  • Band-Aids
  • Makeup sponge for removing deodorant stains

8. There’s Never A Wrong Time To Wear Red Lipstick

Ruby Woo, Dior’s Rouge, or Chanel’s Pirate – you need these or the deepest shade of red in your cosmetic closet. And don’t listen to them – it’s always a good time to wear a red lipstick.

9. Recast Your Jewelry

  • Loop a chain through the clasp of a brooch. Suddenly, it’s a necklace!
  • Use the same jewel to add a touch of sparkle to your handbag.
  • Wrap your chains or lariat around your wrist for a tough-luxe bracelet.
  • Snap clip-on earrings onto flats for an instant evening shoe.

10. Own Classics – Trench, Leather, Denim Jackets

Classics like these are timeless, and every girl needs them in her closet. They come in handy all through the year in one way or another. Opt for a leather jacket with wool trousers, a jean version over a silk shirt, or-stylists’ favorite!-an army jacket over just about anything.
