Windows 10: Hide Folders and Find them again

Hide Folders and Find them again

Want to hide an annoying folder in Windows 10? We explain how this is done.

Windows 10 has standard folders that cannot be deleted, such as “3D Objects” or “Desktop”. If you never use these folders and they are only in your way on your computer, you can easily hide the folders. The folders still exist, but are invisible and are no longer displayed to you. We’ll explain exactly how to do this here.

How to hide folders in Windows 10

Follow our step-by-step guide or take a look at the quick guide.

Step 1:

Right-click on the folder you want to hide and then go to “Properties”.

2nd step:

Now check the “Hidden” box and confirm the process with the “OK” button.

3rd step:

The folder is now hidden and should no longer be displayed in Windows Explorer. But with all of its files, it is still exactly where it was before. If you want to make it visible again, click on the “View” category in the Explorer.

4th step:

There, check the box next to “Hidden Items”.

5th step:

The previously hidden folder should now appear pale again. Right-click on it and select “Properties”.

6th step:

Then remove the checkmark at “Hidden” and confirm the change with “OK”. The folder should now be displayed normally again.
